Peter Trivett
I have worked in the fields of naval architecture, mechanical design and cartography, finally specialising in fine art and printmaking. An early awareness of and attention to detail have resurfaced in my prints, combining my love of all things technical with a fascination with hybrid techniques and an openness and curiosity to the processes involved in creating work.
My prints range from pseudo accurate still life studies of abstract objects to whimsical portraits using primarily etching, mezzotint and drypoint techniques. As a visual counterbalance, I work with monotypes, relishing the play and experimentation of the process, often adding hand colouring and collage to complete the works. No two of my prints are ever the same.
