I came to printmaking and paper making after completing my studies in Art History and Italian. An early passion for contemporary art and craft and a preference for creating much out of little, has resurfaced in my prints and paperworks. I am intrigued by the alchemy that takes place in printmaking and am increasingly drawn to new techniques that encourage access and playfulness to creating work.
A deep love of all things paper-based, I have recently returned to my early love of paper making by setting up an urban paper mill and rekindling a long standing relationship with artists’ books and contemporary bookbinding. I recently found my dusty, old super heroine outfit ‘Paperwoman’ buried under a sheaf of my hand made papers: it has the transformative power to enable me to change the world through art !
